First, thanks for being here! Digging deeper through my love of language and need for creative expression, I started this blog in February of 2021 after a diagnosis of celiac disease that sparked a desire to turn my anxious energy into something positive. I began by writing about the tougher adjustments necessary for this new gluten-free life I am navigating, but soon realized I have so much more to say about life in general outside of the limitations of my diagnosis. I am sure this space will continue to evolve as time marches on.
In my 20 years as a secondary English teacher, I have made it a mission to explore the beauty and complexity of life with my students. The task of curating meaningful experiences through the written word is pivotal to achieving that goal and is now deeply connected to my dream for this blog. As a woman, mom, wife, veteran teacher, and introverted empath, I just want to, as Sylvia Plath once wrote, “live, love, and say it in good sentences.”
Here's to pushing ourselves to pursue our dreams, take risks, be vulnerable, and let each other in.
